Idiot

Western World democracy is
antithesis of Altruism,
which
when learned from a book
is ironically robbed of itself

voters pick from a selected
candidate list
freedom of choice where?

the idea of choice option
inhibited by authority
populous believes they choose Good
over the alternative Prisons

free will a ploy to keep the sane ones
unaware of their insanity

believe what you read in books
until
it is rewritten
then change opinion to match
the latest trend
and call it rational thinking

I call it willful stupidity
and brace my soul for the inevitable
insults
from the blind unfortunates
that choose to be insulted
then hide within
their comfortable
unchallenged circles

ego defenses
chosen by minds that seek like-minded

and they call themselves individuals?

I laugh
at the obvious conclusion for this control
a construct designed to keep consumers
competing for quality
reinforcing a dysfunctional society
that rewards pleasant dishonesty
and punishes free thinking
until a new book is written
to update their precious opinions

the braindeads are up to their usual tricks
convinced of value system intelligence
precise opposite of intellect definition

the joke
is too damned stupid not to make fun of

disagree for all I care

ego is idiot

  1. Choice is the great illusion or one of many.

I enjoyed that and also have a message today:

We have 100 contributions to date, and I am trying again to rope in as many contributors to the Poets for Peace challenge (in place until this the end of August). The many voices in response to this have been fantastic, and I’d love you to add yours (again, if applicable) if you can. Feel free to use an existing piece of writing or a new one asking for peace and/or about the troubled times in which we live.

If you are interested, please leave your poem in the comments section of Neha’s bog and it will be added. https://forgottenmeadows.wordpress.com/2016/07/16/calling-all-poetscreative-minds-to-a-grand-collaboration-poets-for-peace/comment-page-5/#comment-19287
