a further illumination

i recall grimaces, and
sneers
gathered whispering in
covens of suspicion

watching their private tenets
held
beyond outsiders
i recall feeling alone

i,
i,
so important, me
stabbed with curses enough
to describe a mountain
i carry mine

i,
i
devours self, becomes i-self
glittering with hideous reflections
of self
want, self-need, desire self
“what about me
and my righteous meat?”

“what about love thy neighbour,
come
on unmolested cathedrals?
rape thy bounty,
preach murder in defence of, and
fall in repentant tears
upon the naked messiah’s toes.”

hatreds grow and glow
in unavoidable brilliance
squinting against the blear
bright
universe

reflect, reflect
coil in serpent fear
it’ll all be okay
mein lieb,
ouroboros has swallowed gomorrah
and
we live on the edge
of an ever-expanding reality

think not of monsters
while in line at the federal bank

see them not
in hunger
potato heads stuffed with
the eyes of frightened pigs

hand limp on the steering wheel
160 kph
night moon singing odes
to passing shrouds

teasing out momentary glimpses

her     -naked on star blanket
full
of
promise

mutilated by Dr. Inhuman
