memento mori

Ghost
of intemperate wail
a chill mist
slender tendrils pursuing
invisible
over
bodies of water
– distant howl nipples the skin
with the white moon
brilliant
in Her cauldron above
it’s
all up-side down
the Worm catches the Fish
to make a sarcophagi of its stomach
carried to the hungry mouth
of
thy immortal Dreamer

make
of these bones and flesh; an Ark
,and
sing the green forgotten back
to life again
in the
dimensions
of superstitious seedlings

it was always a
world
of stone
smoke swept with the light of fire
dying the tears of elders a forever black
beyond the blades of mountains
– dript in blue from the high-gold sky
edged for blood
and curses

i laugh to see you
attempt
to stuff all your dogmas under one roof
and sigh, collapsing
backward into dandelion spore
breath
exhaled
all of my tired metaphors
out
these poisoned teeth
grinning
like you’ve never seen a sane man
fall
away before
lovely

far uglier than your darkest thought
yet i will seduce you

watch the rise and fall
of a ribcage
in full bloom
begging
to be stabbed through by a brain swollen
with the dust of ancient
machines

wake
and sing the Magic back
