One Possible Explanation for Current Insecurities

the post-world war baby
boomers
were institution dependant
back
when the American dream was more
alive
possible, visible
economies flourished
government faith was ubiquitous
it ended
with Nixon, Watergate and the
aftermath of the Vietnam War
the children of these generations
learned by proxy
Not To Trust
compounded further by
Reaganomics: a
term used to refer to the economic policies
of Ronald Reagan,
the 40th U.S. president (1981–1989),
which called for widespread tax cuts,
decreased social spending,
increased military spending
and the deregulation of domestic markets

Dystopia
was ensured in this age

Corporations are perceived as
enemies
of the working classes

what else could have been learned
but
that nothing
was what it seemed?

looking at popular media
today
our heroes
are anti-heroes
a
far-cry from the science fiction
Star Men
of the mid-fifties
infused w/ space-born super genes

with science came the disillusion
of possible fantasy

we are Now more like our natural selves
of course,
this too is probably bullshit
